Many Hats

I often feel like I wear the wrong hat at the wrong time. This particularly frustrates me when I realize that I've approached someone wearing my "secretary" hat when I should have worn my "friend” hat. I continue to work on choosing the right hat at the right time, and thought that by naming my many hats I might be able to choose them each more wisely.

I wear many hats.

I am a student.

Dedicated, focused, intense.

I am an employee.

Hardworking, laughing, exact.

I am a sister.

Stubborn, well-meaning, loving.

I am a loner. 

Reticent, quiet, pondering.

I am a secretary.

Business-like, structured, brief. 

I am a friend.

Caring, smiling, attentive.

I am an old soul.

Wandering, remembering, reviving.

I am a young girl.

Giggling, adventure, joy.

I am an artist.

Experiment, discovery, pride.

I am lost.

Searching, anticipation, dread.

I am found.

Confident, secure, sure. 

I am little.
Single-minded, self-centered, fearful.

I am much.

Expanding, multi-faceted, creating.

I wear many hats.
Combining, collecting, refitting.
